in Andalusia and along the Mediterranean coast, "quisquilla" refers to small, translucent pink or grey shrimp from cold waters.

These are often wild-caught and have a delicate, sweet flavor.

Usually eaten boiled with salt and lemon or served as a tapa.

They are similar to northern shrimp (Pandalus borealis) or Caridean shrimp.
